Senior Campus Minister (John) & Part-Time Ministry Staff (Amber)
John and his wife, Amber, graduated from Appalachian State University in 2011 and are originally from Salisbury, North Carolina. Both were involved with CCF as student leaders. Upon graduating, feeling the call to ministry, they both pursued a year-long internship with a CCF chapter at the University of West Georgia. They were married the following summer and moved back to Boone for a couple of years. Amber pursued a career in the health and wellness field as an Exercise Specialist and John began thinking about seminary.
In the summer of 2014, they packed up and moved out west to Denver, Colorado so John could pursue his Master’s of Divinity with a focus in theology at Denver Seminary. After 5 years in Denver, a lot of personal and spiritual growth, and the birth of their first child, Jackson, they moved back to Boone in late 2019 where John joined the CCF staff as Associate Campus Minister. He became Senior Campus Minister in August 2021.
Since moving back, John and Amber added another son, Wyatt, to their family and have their 3rd son due in December. John has a passion for seeing others grow into a deeper relationship with Christ, as well as being outdoors, hiking, fishing, or reading.
